Brussels-Capital Region: a younger population

  • The population of the Brussels-Capital Region is younger than the population of Belgium as a whole. Proportionally, there are more people in the age groups 0-4 years (infants) and 20-29 years (young adults). The average age of the Brussels population gradually fell between 2001 and 2008, whereas it increased in other Regions of Belgium. In 2008 the Brussels population was 2 years and 7 months younger than the national population.
