Bike trips

Brussels has invested a lot of time and effort in recent years to improve its network of bike paths. Although the city is not completely flat, the bike is the ecological and flexible way to explore. There are various bike itineraries you can try in the Brussels-Capital Region.

No bike of your own? Not a problem!

  • You can hire a bike from the Bike PointsExternal link  at Brussels-Nord, Brussels-Central, Brussels-Midi and Brussels-Luxembourg.
  • For short journeys, you can take a Villo!External link Bike from one of the Villo! docking stations. When you’re done, leave it at any other Villo! docking station in Brussels.

Where to go

  • Bruxelles Mobilité has put together an interactive mapExternal link showing bike routes throughout Brussels (FR/NL). It also includes a list of bike shops and Villo! docking stations.
  • Bruxelles Environnement has mapped out a Green Route (FR/NL)External link through the outer suburbs of Brussels, allowing you to experience the Brussels countryside (FR/NL) on foot or by bike.
  • Pro Velo organizes every weekend from April to October guided bike toursExternal link. You needn’t be a sportsman/woman to participate: it’s family entertainment.
  • You can also explore the Bois de la Cambre in the south of Brussels by bike. Much of the park is closed to motorised vehicles at weekends.
